French company Thalys to modernize Baku Metro's control system

Baku Metro CJSC and the French company Thalys inked a contract on supply of equipment for control and signalling system of the Baku Metro.
The contract includes the purchase of modern equipment and software, their installation, as well as settlement of other related issues.
The use of new equipment envisages a full automation of control and signal system of the Baku Metro, as well as minimizing the human participation in the process, according to the message.

Chinese company invited to participate in Internet development project in Azerbaijan

Chinese company Huawei Technologies was invited to participate in the broadband Internet development project in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies said.

Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov and the newly appointed head of Huawei office in Azerbaijan Liu Jian Wei discussed the prospects of expanding the company's activity.

TASIM participants approve WB proposal on alternative route

The participants of the Transnational Eurasian Information Super Highway project (TASIM) approved the World Bank's proposal on laying its third alternative route, TASIM working group head Zaur Hasanov said.

"WB proposes to lay the third route through the territory of Turkmenistan," he added.

"The new route also has a way to China, as well as the East Asian countries (Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.), having high requirements for Internet capacity," Hasanov added.
