Production drilling accounted for 87,747 meters of the total volume of drilling work carried out by SOCAR over eight months, while the remaining part of this volume fell to exploration drilling.

SOCAR continued implementing a program on stabilization and increase of volumes of oil production in August. For this purpose the company is repairing old and drilling new wells in onshore and offshore fields in Azerbaijan.

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) started drilling a new well in the onshore oil field "Saadan". The well No 1804 will be 1400 meters deep. Works are implemented by a trust of complex drilling works of SOCAR. "Saadan" field is located in the Caspian-Guba petroleum district.

SOCAR continued drilling a new well in the shallow part of Guneshli field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The projected depth of the well on the Guneshli-13 platform is 3,500 meters. According to the geologists' calculations, the daily debit of the well will be 150,000 cubic meters of gas and 15 tons of condensate.

A new well in the Guneshli field was prepared for drilling. The well will be drilled on the "Guneshli-14" platform. The projected depth of the well is 3,100 meters. According to the geologists' calculations, the expected average daily debit of the well will be 90 tons of oil and 15,000 cubic meters of gas.

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has started drilling the first horizontal oil well on the "Pirallahi Island-onshore" field. The project depth of the well, which is being drilled by the SOCAR Complex Drilling Works Trust, is 1,088 meters, according to the statement.

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has prepared an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) within the construction of a new production platform in the Bulla Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The new platform No. 122 is designed for drilling of three gas-condensate wells according to the draft. The platform will be located at a water depth of 26 meters. According to calculations, the platform will produce 450 tons of condensate and 2.4 million cubic meters of gas daily.

The well No 84 was commissioned in the fifth platform at Guneshli field after overhaul.

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) in the near future plans to put into operation a new production platform in the Chilov field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The new platform, which has been completed, is designed to drill 10 wells.

Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) has commissioned a new well at the "Oil Rocks" field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.

The company said the well, which was drilled from the platform #2585 at a depth range of 2,457-2,449 meters, has a daily debit of 30 tons.

b) Processing

Azerbaijan produced 806,900 metric tons of vehicle fuel in January-August 2014, which is 13 percent less than in the same period of 2013, the country's State Statistics Committee said in its report.

Currently, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is carrying out work on modernization of the processing facilities, as growth is observed in the fuel consumption in the country.

In total, Azerbaijan produced 3.1 million metric tons of major types of oil products in Jan.-Aug., compared to over 3.43 million metric tons in the same period of 2013.

The country produced some 1.41 million metric tons of vehicle fuel in 2013, compared to 1.3 million metric tons in 2012. In total, Azerbaijan produced 5.09 million metric tons of major types of petroleum products in 2013.
