Azerbaijani president receives president of Rosneft
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received President of Rosneft state company of the Russian Federation Igor Sechin.
During the meeting, the parties highlighted the projects jointly implemented by Rosneft and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic in both countries. The sides also discussed prospects for cooperation.

Azerbaijan, Japan to strike deal on investment promotion and protection
Azerbaijan and Japan are going to sign an agreement on promotion and mutual protection of investments, the Economy and Industry Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev said.
He made the remarks at a meeting with a delegation led by Yoichi Kobayashi, the Vice President of Itochu Corporation, and Co-chair of the Japan-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
A draft agreement was presented to the Japanese side during the meeting, the Economy and Industry Ministry said.
During the meeting it was noted that the signing of the agreement on promotion and mutual protection of investments between the governments of Azerbaijan and Japan has significance in terms of the future development of economic ties.

Azerbaijan to finance construction of railway bridge on border with Iran
Heads of the railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia met to discuss the acceleration of construction of the Qazvin-Rasht-Astara (Iran)-Astara (Azerbaijan) railway, which is a part of the International North-South Transport Corridor, Iran's Deputy Roads and Urban Development Minister, CEO of Iranian Railways Mohsen Pour Seyed Aghaie said.
He said that during the trilateral meeting, it was agreed that Iran and Russia are jointly to construct the Resht-Astara (Iran) railway.
"The construction works will be financed by the Russian side on the basis of an agreement between Iran and Russia," Pour Seyed Aghaie said.
He also noted that the construction of a border railway bridge between the Iranian and Azerbaijani Astara is to be financed by the Azerbaijani side.

Azerbaijani president receives German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The president said that Steinmeier`s visit was a good opportunity for discussing the issues related to the development of the bilateral relations in political, economic, security and other areas, and also for defining future work. The parties also discussed issues of mutual interest.

Azerbaijan simplifying customs clearance of goods
Azerbaijan will reduce the time spent for verification of goods at the customs clearance from 3 to 2 days after reception of a declaration by customs authority, and submission of documents and goods, according to the draft law "On Amendments to the Customs Code".
The draft law was submitted to Azerbaijan's parliament, the Milli Majlis for consideration.
