Azerbaijan soon to start assembling Russian KAMAZ

Azerbaijan's Ganja Automobile Plant and Russia's Kamaz Automobile Plant (KAMAZ) signed an official distribution agreement for the assembly and sale of KAMAZ vehicles in Azerbaijan and other countries.

The assembly of the first KAMAZ vehicle in Azerbaijan will take place in late February or early March 2015.

Azerbaijani business invited to Bulgaria

Bulgaria is interested in expanding ties with Azerbaijan, the Economy Minister of Bulgaria Bozhidar Lukarski said at a meeting with Azerbaijan's Economy and Industry Minister Shahin Mustafayev. He invited the Azerbaijani minister and entrepreneurs to Bulgaria.

Mustafayev, for his part, said the two countries have wide opportunities to cooperate in agriculture, processing, food industry, tourism and others.

Bulgarian entrepreneurs could also take advantage of the benefits applicable in the industrial parks in Azerbaijan, he added.

Azerbaijani, Kazakh customs committees sign engagement plan

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan intend to expand the foreign trade operations, which do not reflect the existing potential today. The international trade development between the countries is envisaged in the bilateral engagement plan signed in Baku for 2015-2016.

The chairman of Azerbaijani State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev and head of the State Revenue Committee under the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan Daulet Ergozhin signed the document.

"Kazakhstan is an important economic partner of Azerbaijan," Aliyev said. "But the trade turnover between the countries hits the hundreds of millions, which is not such a sufficient amount." He said that both countries have great potential to increase the trade turnover.

Azerbaijani president receives Deputy head of Russian government

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Deputy Head of the Government of the Russian Federation Arkady Dvorkovich.

The sides noted the successful development of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation in various fields, and stressed the importance of regular meetings of the heads of states in terms of strengthening the bilateral ties. The parties expressed satisfaction with dynamic development of trade and increase of investment making. The sides discussed the issues related to the expansion of economic cooperation.

Azerbaijani president, Algeria's minister discuss co-op in energy field

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Minister of Energy of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Youcef Yousfi. Yousfi handed Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika's letter to Ilham Aliyev.

The successful development of the relations between Azerbaijan and Algeria was noted at the meeting. The parties discussed prospects for the bilateral cooperation in the field of energy.

Tajikistan interested in Azerbaijani investments

Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Nematullo Hikmatullozoda and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Tajikistan Abbasali Hasanov discussed drawing of Azerbaijani investments in Tajikistan's economy and the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The two countries are interested in establishing joint ventures in the field of processing of agricultural products, and resumption of Baku-Dushanbe direct flights, the Azerbaijani embassy in Tajikistan said.

The sides also discussed the issue of holding another meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation.

Azerbaijani president receives Greek energy minister

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Greek Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy Panagiotis Lafazanis.

It was noted that Azerbaijan and Greece enjoyed good, mutually beneficial cooperation. The sides underlined the significance of global energy projects in terms of bringing the two countries closer to each other and ensuring their development.

Azerbaijani president receives delegation led by US Department of State Special Envoy

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs at the US Department of State Amos Hochstein. The parties expressed satisfaction with the development of Azerbaijani-US bilateral ties. The sides said there was good potential for implementing energy, transport and other projects. The issues related to the expansion of the bilateral cooperation on this front were discussed at the meeting.

Azerbaijani minister, Czech ambassador discuss holding business-forum in Baku

Baku will host the Azerbaijani-Czech business forum in March. The issue was discussed at a meeting of Azerbaijani Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Czech Republic Vitezslav Pivonka.

The ambassador said that the two countries have great potential for the development of mutual relations, stressing that the Czech Republic is interested in expanding the cooperation with Azerbaijan in the non-oil sector.
