Azerbaijan intends to expand relations with Russian Federation's entities
The expansion of ties with the Russian Federation's entities is very important for Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Niyazi Safarov said.
Safarov said that Azerbaijan has already been cooperating with 78 entities of Russia and intends to develop these relations.
"Azerbaijan and Russia signed more than 170 contracts, of which 45 - in the economic sphere," he said. "The work on new agreements is underway."
The investment opportunities of the Astrakhan region and the Lotos special economic zone were presented as part of the meeting.
The business meeting was organized by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), supported by the Ministry of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan. Some 40 Azerbaijani businessmen attended the meeting.

A direct air service can be opened between Baku and Sharm el-Sheikh
This proposal was put forward by the governor of Egypt's South Sinai province Khaled Fouda during the meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev. He said both countries have great potential in the sphere of tourism.
Mustafayev, for his part, said the countries cooperate in humanitarian and energy spheres and stressed the possibility of cooperating in the spheres of agriculture, tourism, industry, alternative energy.

Azerbaijan joins green card insurance system
Azerbaijan has joined the international Green Card System of motor insurance, said Azerbaijan's Compulsory Insurance Bureau. The decision on Azerbaijan's joining the system was made in Poland at a session of the General Assembly of the Council of Bureaux, which is the managing organization of the Green Card System. The system will become operational in Azerbaijan on January 1, 2016.
