Large gas-to-liquids plant to be constructed in Turkmenistan

A large plant for producing liquid fuel from natural gas (GTL) will be constructed in Derweze district of Turkmenistan's Ahal province, said the message from the country's Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources.

The new plant will process 3.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas and produce 1.691 million tons of liquid fuel per year, according to the message.

Gulf Drilling Azerbaijan introduces new drilling rig

Gulf Drilling Azerbaijan, which is a subsidiary service company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Gulf Drilling Supply FZE in Azerbaijan, held a presentation of a new drilling rig.

Drilling rig ZJ-20 is made by order of company in China with the latest technology and fully financed by foreign investment. The rig is capable of drilling on land-based oil and gas fields at a depth of 2000-2400 meters, and carrying out capital repairs on older wells to a depth of 4,500 meters.

Kazakhstan starts producing diesel fuel meeting Euro-4, Euro-5 standards

Shymkent oil refinery (PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP) has started to produce diesel fuel in accordance with the requirements of К4 and К5 emission classes said the message from the Public Relations Service of KazMunaiGas - Processing and Marketing JSC. The К4 and К5 emission classes are the analogue of Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards adopted in Customs Union countries.

Thus, it became the first among three Kazakh refineries to produce diesel fuel meeting these standards, according to the message. The production of such diesel fuel became possible after reconstructing and commissioning the diesel hydro-treating unit, according to the message. The latest developments of the world's leading companies of this industry, namely, Axens (France) and Sud Chemie (Germany) were used in the reconstruction of the unit.

Italy offers its infrastructure to transport Azerbaijani gas to Europe

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) and the Italian Snam signed a memorandum of cooperation to assess the initiatives put forward for the development of the Southern Gas Corridor in Baku. The memorandum envisages the exchange of information and thorough evaluation of various works.

The sides discussed the possibility of exchanging the experience between SOCAR and Snam in the fields of construction and operation of the equipment necessary for the transportation of natural gas from Azerbaijan and other countries to the European markets through the Italian infrastructure to ensure energy security of Europe.
