Penalties to be increased for allotting land plots for construction in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani officials will be fined in the amount of 1,500 manat for allotting land plots for construction (except for land plots in the area of ​​main pipelines, power transmission lines over 1000 V, underground, railway facilities, security facilities, technical equipment of sewage and water systems, oil rigs, roads and so on., as well as agricultural lands), if they break the rules defined by the legislation, the Azerbaijani parliament said.

This is envisaged by the bill "On Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences".

According to the current legislation, the penalty ranges from 60 manat to 90 manat.

According to the new bill, agricultural lands are included in the list of lands, which are an exception in this issue.

The fines will be also increased for using the land plots for other purposes.

So, physical entities will be fined in the amount of 300 manat, officials - 600 manat, legal entities - in the amount of 3,000 manat for using the land plots for other purposes.

According to the new bill, physical entities will be fined in the amount of 500 manat, officials - 1,000 manat and legal entities - 5,000 manat for the late return of leased agricultural lands or non-fulfillment of the relevant obligations.

The new amendments envisage the improvement of the legislation on criminal and administrative responsibility for misappropriation or illegal use of lands, including agricultural lands.
