Azerbaijan, Turkey to co-op in building satellites

Azerbaijan and Turkey will cooperate in building new generation micro- and nano-satellites and telecommunication systems, said the message from Azercosmos JSC.

A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in space industry was signed between Azercosmos JSC of Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, Turkey's Space Technologies Research Institute and Science Development Foundation under the president of Azerbaijan. The document envisages cooperation in conducting researches in space and astronomy spheres, as well as in studying the Earth's surface.

Romania eyes bigger economic ties with Azerbaijan

Romania is interested in developing economic ties with Azerbaijan, Romanian ambassador to the country Daniel Cristian Ciobanu said. He made the remarks during the meeting with the deputy head of the Shaki City Executive Power Hasan Hasanov, said the press release from Romanian embassy in Baku. Ciobanu pointed out that there are good prospects for boosting the exchange of goods and increasing the volume of trade at regional level. The head of the Romanian diplomatic mission presented opportunities opened by the project of transport corridor between Black Sea and Caspian Sea for increased cooperation in trade.

President Aliyev receives Latvia's economy minister

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Minister of Economy of Latvia Dana Reizniece-Ozola. The minister said she is accompanied by 30 entrepreneurs from various fields, including information technologies, transport and agriculture, adding the Latvian businessmen are interested in continuing cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Aliyev stressed the significance of close mutual activity of various organizations of the two countries in terms of the development of Azerbaijani-Latvian ties. The president said cooperation in economic field is of particular importance.

Latvia chose priority areas for co-op with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan and Latvia have many priority areas for cooperation, Dana Reizniece-Ozola, the Latvian Economy Minister, said. "The main cooperation areas are the information and communication technologies and pharmaceuticals," said Reizniece-Ozola, who is on a visit to Baku. Recently, a joint Azerbaijan-Latvia business forum has been held in Baku during the visit of the Latvian delegation. The event was attended by around 90 businessmen carrying out activities in the spheres of industry, logistics, tourism, medicine and pharmaceuticals, education, construction, finance and so on.

Azerbaijan, Pakistan to co-op in energy sector

Azerbaijan and Pakistan intend to sign a memorandum for energy sector cooperation.

Azerbaijan's Energy Ministry noted that the two countries' cooperation was discussed at a meeting between Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Natig Aliyev and the Pakistan State Oil Company's CEO and Managing Director Sheikh Imran ul Haque.

According to the ministry, the meeting also discussed the prospects for creation of an infrastructure to transport oil products and liquefied natural gas to Pakistan.

Azerbaijan, China to boost infrastructure projects co-op

Azerbaijan and China have agreed to strengthen the interstate cooperation in infrastructure projects, finance, communications, Xinhua news agency reported.

The agreement was reached during the meeting between Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Abid Sharifov and China's Vice-Premier Wang Yang in Beijing, according to the report.

The sides also expressed willingness to take the advantage of the opportunities provided by the 'One Belt, One Road' project of the Chinese government. The project is aimed at supporting and promoting the implementation of promising and cost-effective international commercial and infrastructure projects in Asia, Europe and adjacent regions.

Beijing also hosted the 5th meeting of Azerbaijan-China intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.

Minsk hosts official welcoming ceremony for President Aliyev

An official welcoming ceremony was held for Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev in the Independence Palace in Minsk, Belarus. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko met Azerbaijani president.

Azerbaijan, Belarus sign documents

Signing ceremony of documents between Azerbaijan and Belarus took place in Minsk following the expanded meeting of the presidents of the two countries.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the Joint Declaration.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov and Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko signed an agreement on social and economic cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan until 2025.
