Demolition of "Khrushchev" houses to begin from first micro-district in Baku
The so-called "Khrushchev" houses will be demolished in Baku and multi-storey buildings will be built instead of those houses, according to the Cabinet of Ministers’ decision on the measures of restructuring the first and other micro-districts of Baku.
The functions of the customer of the reconstruction work, which will be carried out in the first micro-district, as a "pilot project", are entrusted to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations on the basis of its proposal, agreed with the organizations involved in the project.
The country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations was instructed to prepare an action plan.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations must coordinate the plan with the State Committee for Town Building and Architecture, the State Committee on Property Issues and the Executive Power of Baku and submit it to the Cabinet of Ministers within 15 days.
A permanent working group including the representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Economy, the Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Finance and the State Committee on Property Issues is being created to resolve the issues and coordinate the work.
