The 66th World Newspaper Congress will open in Italy's Torino today on June 9 and will last till June 11.

Torino will also simultaneously hold the 21st World Editors Forum and the 24th World Advertising Forum in 2014.

The 66th World Newspaper Congress will be attended by the heads of such influential media outlets as The Financial Times, Bloomberg, The Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, The New York Times, ITAR-TASS and others.

The representatives of Azerbaijan's Trend news agency will also take part in this congress.

The World Newspaper Congress defines the main areas of activity of the press and is the main platform for discussing the innovative decisions in this sphere.

The congress also supports the publishers in dealing with the rapid changes taking place in this sphere.

By tradition, the congress will focus on studying new business models and income sources in the newspaper business.

As for the World Editors Forum, it will primarily discuss the innovations in the sphere of journalism and organizing the work of the editorial offices.

Over a thousand publishers, chief editors, executive directors and other top media outlet managers are expected to take part in the congress.

The organizer of the congress is the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) - a leading international organization that brings together many media outlets all over the world.
