Uzbek President Islam Karimov approved an Uzbek-Azerbaijani intergovernmental agreement on military and technical cooperation.
The decree the "On Approval of a Treaty" was published in Uzbek media.
The Uzbek-Azerbaijani agreement on military and technical cooperation was signed by the two countries' defense ministers in March 2009 during Uzbek Defense Minister Kabul Berdiyev's visit to Baku.
The Uzbek parliament ratified the document in late August.
Under the decree, the president instructed the Foreign Ministry to notify the Azerbaijani side once necessary internal procedures are implemented to enforce the document.
Uzbek Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyayev and National Security Council Secretary Murad Atayev were tasked to control the execution of the decree.
