Jahon, Trend sign partnership agreement

The Uzbek state news agency Jahon and Azerbaijani News Agency Trend signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of information.

The cooperation agreement was signed in the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation in Science, Technology and Information between the governments of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan dated May 1996.

Based on the document, the parties will regularly exchange online news and analytical materials, as well as photographs on the latest developments in domestic and international life in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. The parties also intend to cooperate closely in organizing and providing information support for visits of heads of states and official delegations, as well as other interstate events and activities held in the territory of the two countries.

The Information Agency "Jahon" of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry was established in November 1995 with a view of disseminating the objective information on the social, economic and political reforms in Uzbekistan. Along with that, the establishment of the news agency has envisaged the reporting about the processes of democratic renewal of society, extending partnership ties with the news agencies around the world, and promoting the integration of the country into the global information space. The news agency is the only mass media outlet in Uzbekistan, which employs its own network of correspondents at the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad.

Founded in 1995 as an independent media outlet, Trend Agency is a leading news provider in the Caucasus and Caspian region. The portal www.Trend.Az produces articles in five languages, including English, Russian, Azerbaijani, Persian and Arabic. Trend offers clients high-quality multimedia materials, analytical feature articles highlighting major political and economic developments and financial articles from top agency experts. The articles cover the latest political and economic developments in Azerbaijan and other countries in the Caspian region, Central Asia and some CIS countries.
