As a result of the accident of a freight train going through the territory of Azerbaijan from Georgia to Turkmenistan, breaks occurred in the traffic of trains in both directions, spokesperson for Azerbaijan Railways Nadir Azmammadov told Trend on Wednesday.

"Tonight, at 03.24 four refrigerated wagons of a freight train going from Georgia to Turkmenistan derailed at the Yevlakh railway station. As a result, breaks occurred in both directions in the traffic of trains. Freight train belongs to Georgia," Azmammadov said.

He said that at present as a result of the repair work carried out on the scene with the assistance of relevant agencies, the wagon was put on the rails, and passenger trains in the Baku-Tbilisi and Tbilisi-Baku directions were sent to destination

Repair-and-renewal operations continue.
