Regular consultations within the framework of the Geneva international talks, held on 7-8 June has completed unsuccessfully, head of the Georgian delegation, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergi Kapanadze told reporters on Saturday. Non-constructive position of Moscow and the separatist representatives didn't allow to find common approaches, he added.

"Georgian side once again underlined the need for Russia to undertake the non-use of force commitments, and necessity of creating international mechanism on the occupied territories. But Moscow has refused to do so by offering Tbilisi to conclude an agreement on non-fire with Sukhumi and Tskhinvali," he said.

Kapanadze said issue of Russian military exercises Caucasus-2011, which will take place on the border with Georgia, and of possible provocations were raised in this regard. However, Russia's representative, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said it the Georgian side that speculates around these exercises.

The participants of the Geneva Talks also failed to resolve the crisis around the Mechanism for Conflict Prevention and response to incidents.

Military action was launched in the Georgian territory of South Ossetia on Aug.8 in 2008. Later Russian troops occupied the city of Tskhinvali and drove the Georgian military back. Russia recognised the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in late August. In response, Tbilisi broke off diplomatic relations with Moscow and announced two unrecognised republics as the occupied territories.
