Iranian ships in Hormuz Strait, Persian Gulf and the coast of Oman will soon be equipped with 300km anti-radar missiles, Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said.

Iranian ships in Hormuz Strait, Persian Gulf and the coast of Oman will soon be equipped with 300km anti-radar missiles, Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said, Mehr reported.

Admiral Fadavi noted that Iran has 100 percent observation over the Hormuz Strait, Persian Gulf and the coast of Oman.

On June 21 Iranian Navy announced plans to build more warships and increase its presence in international waters at a time of growing tension in the Middle East over Tehran's nuclear programme.

Navy commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said the deployments would protect Iranian cargo ships around the world, in particular in the Gulf of Aden and the northern part of the Indian Ocean, according to IRNA.
