Turkey and Oman has signed a memorandum of understanding to boost cooperation in economy, transportation, education, science, technology, energy, agriculture and fisheries, Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkey and Oman has signed a memorandum of understanding to boost cooperation in economy, transportation, education, science, technology, energy, agriculture and fisheries, Anadolu Agency reported.

The agreement was penned in a ceremony on the margins of the ninth edition of the Turkey-Oman Joint Committee meeting in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

Speaking after the meeting, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay said Turkey and Oman had achieved a sizeable increase in bilateral trade relations over the past years, adding that trade volume between the two countries had reached $271 million.

Leading Oman's delegation at the meeting, Yahya bin Saeed bin Abdullah al Jabri, chairman of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Oman's Duqm, expressed hope that decisions made during the joint committee meeting would be translated into concrete steps soon.
