Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that Iran's independent policies vis-a-vis the global arrogance account for all pressures being exerted by the enemies, IRNA reported.
The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with a number of participants of the national conference of Iranian young elites.
Addressing the audience, the Supreme Leader said success and progress of Iranian elites depend on providing them with a suitable ground for attaining scientific development, strengthenig their sense of responsibility towards next generations and preventing them from being impressed by the progress of the western societies.
By grace to Almighty God and with reliance on the country's talented youths, the great Iranian nation will strongly resist pressures and overcome all hard situations in order to attain success and prosperity, said the Supreme Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei congratulated the Iranian youths on their success in making use of their talents and abilities in various fields and advised them to go ahead with their success to break a record in the history of Iran.
High morale of the Iranian youths is regarded as the great triumph for the Islamic Revolution, underlined Ayatollah Khamenei.
Scientific gap with the rest of the world and active presence of regional rivals are among realities which should be taken into consideration in making great achievements, said the Supreme Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei also advised officials to immediately draw up the strategic document of the elites.
To attain goals, all should have a correct assessment of the country's abilities and points of strength as well as enemies' fronts and failures, said the Supreme Leader, adding that Iran's independent stands on global developments is the route cause of pressures being exerted by the global arrogance and the Iranian nation should not give in to them.
They seek to bring the Iranian nation to its knees through such pressures but to no avail, said Ayatollah Khamenei.
The great Iranian nation with reliance on its natural resources and talented workforce will successfully pass through hard periods of time, said the Supreme Leader.
Prior to Supreme Leader's remarks a group of students expressed their views on the country's scientific progress.
The sixth National Conference of Young Elites opened in the Iranian capital Tuesday in the presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
A number of young Iranian elites and top talented university students were honored during the conference.
