Kazakhstan and Turkey will sign some bilateral documents at high level within Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev's official visit to Turkey on October 11-12, Kazakh Foreign Ministry reported.

Within the visit Nazarbayev will meet with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"The parties will discuss the main milestones in the development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey over the last 20 years, the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation and the possibility of strengthening the mutually beneficial economic, scientific, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries," the Ministry said.

Moreover, Nazarbayev and Erdogan will take part in the first meeting of Strategic Cooperation Council at the high level.

"Some bilateral documents, including the implementation plan of the Joint Economic Program 'New Synergy' under the Kazakh and Turkish Presidents' patronage will be signed within the meeting," the Ministry said.

Moreover, representatives of business circles of the two countries will take part in a business forum scheduled for October 12.

Kazakhstan and Turkey are cooperating mainly in investment, trade and economic spheres. Over 160 companies with Turkish capital have been registered in Kazakhstan.

The bilateral turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkey hit $3.3 billion in 2011, which is 80 percent more compared to 2010. The countries plan to increase turnover to $10 billion by 2015.
