Georgian government to focuse more on EU integration

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the government will be more oriented towards integration into the European Union. Euro-Atlantic course of Georgia will be unchanged in the next year, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maya Panjikidze in an interview to "Rustavi-2".

"Our policy is unchanged, and the next year we will be called to do the will of the Georgian people, and return to the European family," - she said.

According to her, the main priorities of the country are also returning of the lost territories and united Georgia.

"I can not promise that it will happen in 2013, but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia will be work a lot for achieing this goal," Panjikidze said.

Military action was launched in the Georgian region of South Ossetia on Aug.8, 2008. Later, Russian troops occupied the city of Tskhinvali and drove the Georgian military back. Russia recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in late August of that year.
