Georgian government will finance construction of the runway at Tbilisi International Airport and start talks with managing Turkish TAV Georgia.

TAV Georgia was planning construction of the runway through third party financing and for that the company was given a 10-year extended right for management of the airport, Georgia's Economy Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said.

"Today, we are working on solving the runway issue along with the TAV. Through bilateral negotiations the government has taken the decision to finance the construction of the runway itself and not to extend the contract with the Turkish company," Kvirikashvili said.

According to him, the government is waiting for the decision of the TAV on this occasion.
