Ambassador: Tehran sceptical over U.S intention to establish dialogue over nuclear programme

Tehran does not believe in the statement of U.S. vice president Joe Biden that Washington does not refuse to consider direct talks with Iran on its nuclear programme, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Seyed Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi said.

"With regard to Joe Biden's statement, as our Foreign Minister said in Munich, we take this suggestion positively. But I ask you the Russians, to what extent to you believe in American words? Did they really continue the restart with Russia? Did they reciprocate on the steps by Russia in order to build trust between Russia and America and the West? "he said at a news conference of RIA Novosti on Wednesday.

Earlier, U.S. Vice President Biden said in Munich that Washington does not refuse direct talks with Iran on a nuclear settlement, but wants the meeting to have a specific agenda.

The United States, other Western countries and Israel accuse Iran of developing nuclear weapons under the guise of a peaceful nuclear programme. Currently, there are four sanction resolutions of the Security Council and those unilaterally adopted by a number of countries and organisations demanding that Iran provides full transparency of its nuclear programme proving it has an exclusively peaceful purpose.
