The Sirri NGL project, as part of the Mehr Mandegar (Lasting Kindness) projects, was inaugurated on Thursday (14 February 2013) by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president of the Islamic republic of Iran, Sana reported.

The main objectives of the Sirri NGL are exploitation of natural-gas condensate and collection of associated gases, as well as environment improvement, job creation and economic development in the region.

The facility has the capacity to collect 3.5 million cubic meters of associated gases on a daily basis for changing it into light gas as feedstock for petrochemical plants and injection to national gas grid.

In addition to a processing firm, the Sirri NGL project includes Sirri-Qeshm-Kish seabed pipeline, feeding Kish gas plant and two compressor stations in Kish Island and Nasr rig.

An important development in this project is the installation of new facilities for reduction, redirection, transportation and recycling of the products that otherwise would have vaporized during the production process.

Sirri Island is one of the six operational regions of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company's (IOOC) in Persian Gulf.
