Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia to strengthen links in fighting terrorism

A delegation from the Ministry of the Interior of Saudi Arabia headed by Director-General for International Cooperation, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Huvereni and First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan Adham Ahmedboev have discussed strengthening cooperation in the fight against terrorism, extremism and crimes related to drug trafficking, the National Information Agency of the Republic (UzA) said on Thursday.

A delegation from the Ministry of the Interior of Saudi Arabia headed by Director-General for International Cooperation, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Huvereni and First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan Adham Ahmedboev have discussed strengthening cooperation in the fight against terrorism, extremism and crimes related to drug trafficking, the National Information Agency of the Republic (UzA) said on Thursday.

According to the agency, an in-depth exchange of views on strengthening security and stability took place during the meeting.

The parties noted that cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect and trust between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia has developed in the field of security, along with trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian areas.

Saudi representatives expressed satisfaction with the work carried out in Uzbekistan to improve the work of law enforcement bodies, as well as interest in the development of cooperation with Uzbekistan in ensuring security and stability.

Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement on cooperation in the fight against terrorism, organised crime, trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances as well as other types of crime.
