Ahmadinejad to establish private university in Iran

Iranian outgoing President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which will be replaced by President-elect Hassan Rouhani on August 4, plans to establish university in Tehran, Mehr news agency quoted member of the Iran's Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution Mohammad Hossein Yadegari as saying.

Iran's Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution has accepted Ahmadinejad`s application to create university in Tehran, Yadegari said.

Ahmadinejad wishes to work on training of high educated professionals in the future, he added.

Establishing of university in Tehran is banned and just can be realized with permission of the Iran's Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution.

Yadegari said there is no information regarding the name of the university.

Previously, it was been announced that Chief of Staff of the President, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei (who is a close ally of Ahmadinejad) plans to found an university named "Iranian".

The Ahmadinejad`s university may be the discussed Iranian university.
It should be recalled that, former president of Iran, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani which was president from 1989 to 1997 also established an university named Islamic Azad University in 1982.
