The U.S. will continue to support Georgia for the country to sign the Association Agreement with the European Union as soon as possible, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian affairs, Victoria Nuland said at a press conference, held in Tbilisi on Dec. 5.

She said that the Free Trade Agreement creates a unique chance for Georgia's European integration.

"I know that you have to do much work before signing the agreement. Today we talked about it with the president. Also, with the prime minister we discussed the support that should be provided to Georgia by the E.U. and the U.S. to accelerate this process, for this day to come as soon as possible, so you can enjoy visa-free regime and get other economic benefits," Victoria Nuland said.

At the moment the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State is meeting with the leaders of the National Movement Giga Bokeria, Zurab Japaridze and David Bakradze.

After the meeting Victoria Nuland will depart for Moscow.
