By Demir Azizov - Trend:

Starting form January 1, 2014 the rates of the state duty for registration of non-governmental non-profit organizations in Uzbekistan will be reduced five times, according to Uzbek President Islam Karimov's decree "On measures of assistance on development of the civil society".

The state fee for registration of non-governmental non-profit organizations' detached divisions (representative offices and branches), including those having the rights of legal entities registered in Uzbekistan, were abolished, according to the decree.

Aside from that, Uzbekistan is simplifying the registration of associations of the disabled people, veterans, women and children. Payment of 50 percent of the state duty will be enough for their registration.

The time of consideration of applications in connection with the state registration of non-profit non-governmental organizations by judicial authorities was also reduced from two months to one, according to the decree.

Uzbek president also instructed the government to make a decision in a month, which should include the implementation of measures on unification and simplification of the procedures of state registration, re-registration and liquidation of the non-profit non-governmental organizations, as well as making amendments and additions to their foundation documents, presentation of reports by them to the tax, statistical and registration authorities.

Currently, there are over 6,000 non-profit non-governmental organizations in Uzbekistan.
