The Council for Security and Crisis Management was established by a Georgian government's resolution.

Thirty-five-year-old Mindia Janelidze will head the council.
Janelidze graduated from the Georgian Academy of State Security. He got additional education in Western countries. He worked in various positions in the Georgian Department of State Security. He has headed the Counterintelligence Department of the Georgian Interior Ministry since 2012.

The Council for Security and Crisis Management is an advisory body under the Georgian Prime Minister and answers directly to him.
