Main prosecutor's office of Georgia demands the arrest of Tbilisi mayor Gigi Ugulava.
The prosecutor's office has already appealed to the Tbilisi City Court for pre-trial detention of Ugulava, a statement of the main prosecutor's office said on Dec.21.
New charges have been brought against the major on embezzlement of budget funds allocated to Development Fund of Tbilisi. Altogether he is accused of embezzling $ 48 million.
The charges brought against the Tbilisi mayor are related to grave crimes and envisages imprisonment from seven to 11 years.
