Georgia welcomes U.S. State Department’s statement on ex-officials

Tbilisi, Georgia, Dec.29
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

Georgia welcomes the statement of the U.S State Department, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said on Dec.29.

"The U.S. as a friend of Georgia is interested in the processes related to the rule of law in the country. We welcome this. This shows that Georgian authorities cooperate in this field not only with the U.S., but also OSCE and the EU. OSCE, as well as a special representative of the EU follow these processes. This is another confirmation of how open and transparent are Georgian authorities with regard to the issues of the rule of law," Zalkaliani said.

The U.S. State Department closely follows the activities with regard to former high-ranking officials. This information was spread by the "Voice of America".
