Tbilisi, Georgia, Jan. 2
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

The agreement on facilitation of Swiss visa issuance for Georgian citizens came into force on January 1, 2014.

The Swiss Embassy in Georgia said the agreement which was signed on September 13, 2013, by Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze and Swiss Federal Chancellor Didier Burkhalter, provides for a simplified procedure for issuance of long term multiple-entry visas for a number of individuals including business people and journalists, as well as Georgian citizens whose family members have the right to stay in Switzerland.

Aside from that, Georgian citizens will pay a fee of 35 euros instead of 60 euros for visas giving them the right to stay in the Schengen area for 90 days.

The fee for a longer period visa will remain at 60 euros. The fee can also be paid in U.S. dollars in accordance with the exchange rate.
