Some 12 ministers called before Iranian parliament for report

Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan.3
By Temkin Jafarov - Trend:

Some 12 ministers have been called before the Iranian parliament to report back and answer questions set by members of the parliamentary commissions and other representatives, IRNA agency reported on Jan.3.

The systematic calling of members of the Cabinet of Ministers before parliament has been criticised by President Hassan Rouhani. The president condemned the systematic calling of ministers to parliament on Dec.31, 2012 and stressed that this violates their work schedule.

To date, parliament has issued a warning to four ministers of the Rouhani government. Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia and Minister of Science Reza Farajidan both received serious warnings. According to Iranian legislation, if a minister receives three warnings, then a vote is held on the issue of that person's dismissal.
