The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has withdrawn the banking operations license of Samarkand Open Joint-Stock Commercial Bank.

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has withdrawn the banking operations license of Samarkand Open Joint-Stock Commercial Bank.

The official statement at the regulator's website said that the license was withdrawn "due to violations of the banking legislation."

The statement did not specify on which violations the license of Samarkand bank was recalled.
Comments from the Samarkand bank's management, and the Central Bank representatives on the withdrawal of the license are currently unavailable.

Samarkand Bank was founded in December 2000 as a private closed joint-stock commercial bank, in October 2008 the bank was converted into an open joint stock commercial bank.
The head office of the bank is located in Samarkand.
