A special interagency council has been created to develop the state border control strategy of Georgia. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has signed a corresponding decree.
The chairman of the Council for State Security and Crisis Management Mindia Dzhanelidze will head the council. The composition of the council will include National Security Council secretary Irina Imerlishvili, director of Border Police Zurab Gamezardashvili, Deputy Finance Minister George Tabuashvili, First Deputy Minister of Justice Alexander Baramidze, Deputy Defence Minister Irakli Gegechkori, Deputy Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili, and Deputy Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri.
The council was ordered to work out the state border control strategy for Georgia and submit it to the government by March 1.
