Uzbek Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Belgium and head of Uzbek mission to the European Union Vladimir Norov delivered his credentials to the EU president Herman Van Rompuy, Jahon news agency under the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported today.

Uzbek Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Belgium and head of Uzbek mission to the European Union Vladimir Norov delivered his credentials to the EU president Herman Van Rompuy, Jahon news agency under the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported today.

Norov and Rompuy discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the EU in the political, trade-economic spheres, according to the agency.

The sides stressed the potential for further intensifying and expanding the mutually beneficial cooperation, enhancing the political and economic contacts, developing the cultural relations and tourism.

Norov was appointed Uzbek ambassador to Belgium in July 2013. He served as ambassador to Belgium and head of Uzbek mission to the EU and NATO in 2005 - 2006. He was foreign minister in 2006 - 2010 and first deputy foreign minister from 2010 to 2013.
