Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the implementation of joint action plan on Iran's nuclear program has started, Iranian IRNA news agency reported referring to Zarif's official Facebook page.

Zarif said the implementation of the joint action plan between Iran and the P5+1 started on Monday. The sides have previously agreed to begin implementing the plan on this date, following the Nov. 24 agreement.

Zarif also expressed hope that the implementation of the first phase of plan would be of positive outcomes for the country and would bring further peace and stability to the region and the world.

He also said that it would pave the way for the eventual talks for a final solution of the issue.

Iran and the P5+1 reached a nuclear agreement on Nov. 24. Iran has agreed to curb some of its nuclear activities for six months in return for sanctions relief.

The U.S. and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a nuclear weapon - something that Iran denies. The Islamic Republic has on numerous occasions stated that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons, using nuclear energy for medical researches instead.
