Iran's economy has the highest potential of being among top three in the world, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said, Press TV channel reported live from Davos on Jan. 23.

"I see potential of Iran's economy having potential, in the next 30 years to be considered among world's top three economies," he said during his speech. "Iran is pursuing this."

Rouhani continued to speak on economy, noting that what happened to economy during the crisis years, means that no country can live by itself, and no country can consider its power to last for good.

"The crisis has shown that all of us are in the same boat, we're not immune to such problems," Rouhani said.

"Moderation and prudence are the keys to success," Rouhani said. "This is what I represent, and this is what the people of Iran chose at the presidential elections. And I try to do my best, to materialize country's goals and interests."

Rouhani called the Davos forum a great opportunity "for us to sit and think about international and global concerns", and exchange views on various topics.

"This is how I consider this forum, as I carry the message of peace, cooperation and interaction," Rouhani said, addressing the forum participants.

The president of Iran further said that the country is ready to cooperate with all regional countries on various issues, such as Syrian conflict, Persian Gulf security, economy, social and cultural issues and so on.

Rouhani highlighted such countries as Turkey, Iraq, Russia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, with whom Iran is ready co strengthen cooperation.

"We want to resume political and economic relations with European countries as well. With the nuclear agreement reached in Geneva, Iran's relations with the EU will be realized fully," Rouhani said.

"Also, the Iran-US relations have entered a new stage. Politicians of both countries held consultations, made decisions, this is major development," he said, adding that it is important that the U.S. administration understands and accepts Iran's historic realities not just in words but also in practice.

Rouhani said that after 10 years of negotiations, he other side has finally understood that Iranian people will not back down from its rights, and understand that ongoing pessimism and imposing more sanctions will lead to direct and indirect costs for all involved parties.

"Realistic view points created opportunity, and that led to the deal in Geneva. That deal itself is not temporary, but it is a foundation for future agreements," he said. "There are some differences, but both sides have the same goal."

Iran and the P5+1 reached a nuclear agreement on Nov. 24. Iran has agreed to curb some of its nuclear activities for six months in return for sanctions relief. Both Iran and the P5+1 group have agreed to implement the agreement starting from Jan. 20.

Under the agreement, six major powers agreed to give Iran access to $4.2 billion in revenues blocked overseas if it carries out the deal, which offers sanctions relief in exchange for steps to curb the Iranian nuclear program.

The U.S. and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a nuclear weapon - something that Iran denies. The Islamic Republic has on numerous occasions stated that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons, using nuclear energy for medical researches instead.

Further speaking, Rouhani said that economy alone is not enough for country's good living.

"Other things, such as culture, social and moral values are needed. They connect people together," he said.

Iranian president further went on to say that extremism and terrorism are burning the civilization, as "extremism usually takes the lives of those who are jobless.

"Thus, a way to fight terrorism is through promotion of culture and creation of jobs," he said. "Everyone should have rights for economic, cultural and social development."

Speaking about energy security, Rouhani noted that it can be the key in promoting peace and stability.

"Iran is ready to cooperate with other countries in world energy security," he said, mentioning Iran's unique energy resources. "The cooperation in energy sector between states can establish widespread and stable cooperation."

"Security of energy production and supply, as well as fair equal presence of the countries, based on their geo-strategic necessities, can make energy the main factor of peace and stability," he said.

Iranian president further invited investors and politicians to Iran, to study opportunities for possible investments, and also experience Iranian people's hospitality. He also expressed hope that foreign companies would connect with Iran's private and state-run sectors.

Rouhani further went on to say that through cooperation and mutual understanding "we can make better life for our people, establish permanent peace and get rid of violence in the world".

Rouhani underscored that Iran wants to have good relations with all the countries that officially recognized by the Islamic Republic.
