The Syrian government and opposition will discuss the formation of an interim government on Monday, as a part of the second stage of peace talks currently taking place in Geneva, dpa reported.
"This is the main goal of these talks - the transition of power in the direction of a free political life and combatting corruption," opposition figure and delegation spokesman Louay Safi told reporters shortly before the initial round of talks on Saturday.
The Syrian government had previously refused to discuss the formation of an interim government, which it says is an attempt by the opposition to oust President Bashar al-Assad.
