France is ready to open a new page in relations with Turkey and ready to provide support in such areas as fundamental rights and legal safeguards, French President Francois Hollande said in Ankara on Jan. 28, according to Turkish newspaper Milliyet.

Hollande made the remarks at the closing of the Turkish-French Business Forum, the newspaper said.

The French president emphasized that this would be good both for Europe and for Turkey.

"You can expect full support from France in these matters," the president said.

Touching upon the visa issues, President Hollande said he gave instructions to the French foreign minister regarding this issue.

"We must strive to ensure that entrepreneurs could freely come to France and work in the country. Soon I will meet at the Elysee Palace with the representatives of foreign companies, which intend to invest in the French economy. I would be glad to see there Turkish companies too," President Hollande said.
