Azerbaijani Thermal Power Plant (TPP), which accounts for a major part of electricity produced in the country, generated over 7.63 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in 2013, a message from Azerenergy JSC (production and distribution of electricity in Azerbaijan) said.

Azerbaijani TPP generated nearly 720 million kilowatt hours of electricity in December, 2013, according to the JSC.

According to Azerenergy, in 2013, over 21.5 billion kilowatt hours of electricity was generated by the JSC compared to 21.3 billion kilowatt hours in 2012.

The capacity of power plants owned by Azerenergy JSC exceeds 6,000 megawatts. The JSC owns over 200 substations with capacity of 500, 330, 220 and 110 KVA, as well as eight hydro power plants and 13 TPPs.
