The developments taking place in Ukraine are the internal affairs of this country, Deputy Chairman - Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov told journalists on Feb.1.
"The policy pursued by the government of Azerbaijan, in particular, by the president, aims to expand the circle of friends of our country. Azerbaijan has a lot of friends, and one of them is Ukraine. We would like to see the political stability and tranquility restored in Ukraine in a short time. Of course, all the developments taking place in Ukraine are the internal affairs of this country, " Ahmadov said.
The people of Ukraine have the right to choose its own development path, the deputy prime minister added.
"We respect this right. As a friendly country, Azerbaijan expects that all this excitement, frustration and instability in Ukraine will cease, and the political stability will be restored there," Ahmadov said.
