Gas supply has been temporarily suspended near the Azadlig prospekti subway station (Binagadi district of Baku) where a strong explosion occurred in the basement of an unfinished residential building this morning, Azerigas Production Association of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Trend on Feb.13.

Azerigas Production Association is engaged in the distribution and sale of gas to subscribers in the territory of Azerbaijan.

Gas supply will be resumed after eliminating the explosion's consequences (during the day), the production association said.

"We can speak about the cause of the explosion after the Ministry of Emergency Situations completes the investigation," Azerigas said.

A fire at the scene continues. It caused damage to neighboring buildings, a Trend employee reported from the scene.

Two women and one man were injured, Baku City Emergency and Urgent Medical Aid Station told Trend. One woman got a head injury.
