Uzbekistan's Prosecutor General's Office has questioned the heads of several companies, which formerly were under auspices of the eldest daughter of the country's head, Gulnara Karimova.

On February 18, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office said that the officials of Terra Group, Prime Media and Gamma Promotion companies - Rustam Madumarov, Gayane Avakyan and Yekaterina Klyuyeva were questioned.

Yesterday they were taken to the Prosecutor General's Office in connection with institution of a criminal case against them.

"The criminal case against officials of these three companies and other persons was instituted under Part 3 of Article 184 (large scale evasion from taxes or other obligatory payments), paragraph "v" of Part 2 of Article 178 (especially large scale evasion from taxes or other obligatory payments, committed by a group of persons on preliminary collusion) and other articles of the Criminal Code," the Prosecutor General's Office said.

They stressed that Rustam Madumarov, Gayane Avakyan and Yekaterina Klyuyeva were brought to the Prosecutor General's Office in line with Articles 261-264 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Uzbekistan.

According to Article 261, the people invited by investigator, prosecutor or court in a prescribed manner in connection with proceedings on a criminal case, may be forced to appear if they don't give valid cause for their absence.
