Death toll in an accident on the main road in Iranian city of Larijan has reached 20 people, chairman of the association of passenger transportation cooperatives, Ahmad Reza Amiri said, Iranian Mehr news agency reported on Feb. 18.
According to preliminary information, a Volvo passenger bus which was heading towards Tehran went off a cliff after the driver lost control.
Iranian police are now establishing the exact cause of the accident.
The accident occurred on Tuesday at 04:15 local time. There were more than 30 passengers in the bus.
Rescuers, who arrived at the accident site, took the injured to the nearest hospitals.
