Now Kazakh officials themselves are beginning to declare to financial police bodies about bribes proposed to them, the First Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption Andrey Lukin said in his speech at the briefing of the Central Communications Service.

"Officials themselves have now begun to declare to the financial police about proposed bribes," he said. People reporting the demand of bribes decreased while the crimes related to offering bribes nearly doubled.

The financial police have sent to public agencies and organizations about 400 reports on elimination of the causes and conditions conducive to corruption offenses, he said.

"Nearly 300 charges were brought against public officials, about 100 officials were dismissed," Lukin said.

Some 170 people were rewarded for information related to corruption. The total amount of incentives was 19 million tenge ($ 1 = 184.5 tenge ), the first deputy chairman of the agency said.

"More than 200 criminal cases have been filed upon the information of the citizens, and all of them have been submitted to the court," he said.
