By Umid Niayesh - Trend:

Iranian border guards that were kidnapped are not in danger, Iranian Deputy Interior Minister, Hossein Ali Amiri said, the ISNA news agency reported on Feb. 28.

Five Iranian border guards were abducted in the Jakigour region in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province on Feb. 6 and transferred to Pakistan.

The aish-ul-Adl group which kidnapped the guards tweeted on Feb. 26 that a

Religious Court has sentenced five Iranian soldiers to death, after the Iranians executed one of the relatives of the group's members in Iran.

According to the tweets of Jaish-ul-Adl, the execution has not yet been carried out.

Commenting on the statements, Amiri said the threats will not be realised while Iran continues to work on the case.

Iran is working on the matter which eliminates the possibility of realising the threat, he added, but didn't go into any details.

Amiri underlined that Iranian officials will hold meetings with Pakistani officials next week in Tehran on the issue.

Amiri also said that "I do not think the release of kidnapped soldiers will be drawn into a military operation."

On Feb. 17, Iranian media outlets quoted Iran's Interior Minister, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli as saying Iran held Pakistan accountable on the issue. Iranian forces will enter Pakistan if the country does not take action 'against terrorist groups', he added.

Pakistan has found the hiding place of the Jaish-ul-Adl group, official with the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Mohammad Rafiei said on Feb. 25.

Speaker of Pakistan's Balochistan province parliament Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali will visit Iran on March 2, to discuss the case of the kidnapped guards, Iranian media outlets quoted MP Hossein Sheykholeslam as saying.
