The U.S. shows an unfair position toward Azerbaijan on the issue of human rights, Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party, MP Siyavush Novruzov said at the plenary session of the Azerbaijani Parliament( Milli Mejlis) during the discussion of the Ombudsman report on March 4.
The main purpose of this position is to gain concessions in the exploitation of natural resources, as in Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan, according to Novruzov. He noted that during Taliban regime drug trafficking fell by 3 percent, and after US occupation [of Afghanistan], it rose to 65 percent, and US Army protects these plantations.
Novruzov touched upon the OSCE/ODIHR report on Azerbaijan saying that during the U.S. elections the ODIHR was not even allowed into USA. Novruzov said that, the said report doesn't not specify the people whose rights have been violated in Khojaly, who become internally displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh.
The member of parliment also noted that, some countries are trying to interfere in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan, not having any right to do so.
He added that these reports are based on information of the organizations to which they give out grants.
