President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on creation of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies on March 7.

The new ministry has been created on the basis of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to work out a draft Regulation on the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, its structure and number of employees and to submit it to the president of Azerbaijan; regarding the creation of the ministry. It must work out proposals on aligning the acts of the Azerbaijani president within two months, as well as to ensure the alignment of the legal acts of the Cabinet of Ministers within three months and to inform the president about this, to supervise the alignment of legal acts of central executive authorities and give a report on the execution to the head of state within five months, as well as to solve other issues arising from the executive order.

Regarding the creation of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, the Ministry of Justice has been instructed to ensure alignment of legal acts of central executive authorities and normative acts and inform the Cabinet of Ministers about this.

Ali Abbasov has been appointed the head of the new ministry in accordance with another decree of the president.
