President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov signed a decree dismissing the reserve of the Armed Forces, Turkmen troops performing military service by conscription, and calling up the next Turkmen citizens for military service.

The document also transfers to the reserve the soldiers performing military service in April-June 2014 by conscription who have served the statutory deadlines.

The Decree also provides conscription of Turkmen male citizens in April-June 2014, who have no right for deferment from military service, who have been 18 years old on the conscription day, and the older citizens who have lost the right to deferment from military service.

The special presidential decree ordered the heads of law enforcement agencies to conduct military dismissals solemnly, encourage army honors in combat and socio-humanitarian training.

According to military doctrine adopted by Turkmenistan, the country observe the the status of positive neutrality and is not included in any of the military-political blocs.
