A meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister's Special Representative for Russian-Georgian relations Zurab Abashidze and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin was postponed for an indefinite period, Georgia's Prime Minister told Trend on March 11.
This became known after a telephone conversation between Abashidze and Karasin.
The parties agreed that the meeting will take place in the next few weeks.
A meeting of Georgian and Russian negotiators was to be held in Prague on March 5. However, it was postponed at the request of the Russian side for March 14.
Large scale military action was launched in South Ossetia on August 8, 2008. Later, Russian troops occupied Tskhinvali and expelled the Georgian military.
Russia recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in late August. In response, Tbilisi ended diplomatic relations with Moscow and has called the two unrecognised republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia occupied territories.
