The Georgian Defense Ministry will become a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Council of Defense Ministers of South-Eastern Europe.
The country's government approved the Defense Ministry's membership in the Coordinating Council of the Committee of Defense Ministers of South-Eastern Europe by its regulation and instructed the ministry to send a letter of intent to the committee, the Georgian Defense Ministry told Trend on March 19.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry and the Defense Ministry were instructed to conduct the inter-state procedures required for membership in the committee.
Georgia has been participating in the format of the ministerial meeting of South-Eastern Europe as an observer since 2006. This format serves the cause of peace and security in the region and the integration of the countries participating in the Euro-Atlantic organizations.
